Ben and Jerry's Workplace Practices

I love this Ben and Jerry's website. It does a great job of conveying their business mission and values and you can see how their values are carried out throughout their business.
I pasted the link regarding "employee compensation". Part of it says this: "At Ben & Jerry’s we believe the Company’s financial success should be shared by all stakeholders rather than concentrated at the top of our management structure. Part of the Company’s Economic Mission is to create career opportunities and financial rewards for our employees, a commitment in line with our Social Mission."

  1. A definite example of an employer being socially responsible to its employees...

  2. When we visited Vermont a few years back we stopped at the Ben and Jerry's factory where their business all began. For years you have heard the owners preach their mottos about treating employees fairly, using home grown products, and being socially and economically responsible. Well let me tell you what a breath of fresh air we received when we visited. In the short time that we were there (two to three hours) you could really tell that the company was living by their mission statement and not just feeding the public a bunch of hype. Other companies should use Ben and Jerry as an example when creating their business plan and mission statements. They truly practice what they preach.
